The royal also beat out other British royals including Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (101 years, 238 days), The Duke of Edinburgh (99 years, 303 days) and Princess Alice of Albany (97 years, 313 days). She beat the previous record held by Princess Leonilla of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn (Prussia) who lived for 101 years and 268 days. Princess Alice became the oldest known royal in history when she reached the age of 101 years and 269 days on September 20, 2003. While The Queen was the fifth longest-lived British royal, her aunt Princess Alice, The Duchess of Gloucester could claim the top spot as she lived for an incredible 102 years and 309 days.
